Looking good mate, the wheels have cleaned up a treat and look great :P that can of Carlsberg shows how dedicated you are as a Raleigh builder, I can also confirm how beer helps ;)

was pretty pleased when i found the saddle, its "avenir" which i believe is a raleigh brand which is nice!

gonna see about doing a new bar pad, the one it came with is pretty faded and i think its off a miniburner. did the boxer xl have a "leather look" one similar to the grifter xl? i know its not original but might make a top tube pad also, to cover the awful tuptube decal and for "saftey" reasons!

Not sure if its smooth or leather effect, also not definate that they all had Raleigh printed on them?? you could put a post on the burner site as a certain mini had the same pad (and saddle)

cheers cotterpin, the seat was a lucky find! still on the look out for an original though...

the pad that was on this xl had raleigh printed on it, but with a velcro style fastening. as far as i can make out the one on the brochure has popper fastners. i can't remember what my younger brothers xl had back in the day... will keep eyes peeled for more xl pics i think

jobs left to do are, complete the bar pad poppering - discovered some of the my popper bits had been lost :x, and fix the front mudguard which has come away from the mounting bit and wobbles around loose. previously tried sticking together with some "all purpose adhesive" but that didn't last long so may drill some holes and bolt it together. also going to fit a kickstand. just hoping my lad fits on it alright!
