Bought the bike in this sorry state..

respray and added NOS stuff like saddle and handle bar..

will be adding refurnished stuff later...

The shifter is too modern for the bike, I'd be on the look out for an older one if it were mine. I love the chrome work you've fitted, good work!

agreed, an old metal bodied SA shifter would suit better, they are quite pricey on ebay though :(

totally agreed with you guys! The original shifter is metal but the top part is damaged. I manged to source this plastic one from UK Ebay. Will be on the look out for the orignal ones. BTW, mine was dated 1958...guys, guess what I saw today? A Grifter XL! Or so I think. I'm not familiar with Grifters but will try to take pics or better, buy the bike from the owner! keke..
